Pants: Tailored, “Dockers style” pants (pleated or flat front) with zipper front.
Pull on
(elastic waist) are allowed for grades PK-3. Navy blue and khaki only; no jeans or denim. Girls may also wear Capri pants as long as they match in style, fabric and color to what is offered by Lands End. Pants must be worn at the waist.
Shorts, Skirts, Skorts and Jumpers: Must be of the Lands End style. Solid navy blue and khaki the only accepted colors. Lengths may not be worn below the knees or at a maximum of 3” above the knee when standing and must be worn at the waist.
Shoes & Socks: Shoes and socks must be worn at all times. Appropriate school shoes include loafers, docksiders, oxfords, saddle shoes, and athletic shoes. Shoes should be neat and clean. Athletic shoes are permitted, but must be predominantly white or black. They cannot have any light up or wheel features. The heels of the shoes must not be higher than 1”, as measured by the back of the heel. Shoes must be closed toe for safety reasons. Sandals or flip-flops are are not allowed.
Undergarments: Underclothing should not visible.
Other Restricted Items: Hats or other head covering (while indoors), excessive jewelry and other accessories that are determined to be distracting to the learning environment.
Cold Weather: White or navy tights or leggings may be worn under skirts, shorts or skorts. Plain navy or white sweatshirts may be worn in the classroom, all other outer garments are restricted to recess or lunch time and may not be worn in the classroom.
T-Shirt Fridays: T-shirts earned through the Christ Community Summer Reading program may be worn on Fridays. Regularly approved bottoms must be worn with the T-shirts.
Field Trips: A white polo shirt is to be worn on field trip days unless otherwise directed by the teacher with approval by the principal.
Grooming: It is expected that students and their clothing be clean and neat in appearance. General good grooming and health habits are to be followed.
Dress Code Compliance: All students are expected to wear appropriate clothing as outlined in the dress code policy. This dress code will be enforced by the teachers and the principal. Non-compliance with clothing requirements will be addressed as follows:
1st occurrence: Verbal warning is given and a copy of the dress code, along with a violation form, is sent home with the infraction noted to be signed and returned the next school day with a parent/guardian signature.
2nd occurrence: The student will call a parent to notify parent of non-compliance. Student will be required to alter their appearance to comply with the Dress Code. As needed, the child will wait in the office until compliance is met.
3rd occurrence: A meeting with the Principal and parents will be initiated to review the dress code requirements and help determine the most appropriate course of action and/or a detention will be served after school the following day (until 4:15)
If there are extenuating circumstances on a particular day of your child’s non-compliance, a written note of explanation from the parent will be required to be turned into the office the day of the non-compliance.
